Hyderabad, March 20 -- Korean smartphone maker Samsung is expected to contribute 75 per cent in the overall category in the 5G segment this year against 67 per cent growth expected by the overall industry, said Ghufran Alam, Senior Director, MX Business, Samsung India, here on Wednesday.

Talking to reporters after launching two new mid-range smartphones in its Galaxy A series, dubbed the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 here, Ghufran said 5G is one of the growth factors in the mobile industry, and last year, the overall mobile industry growth in 5G stood at between 50 and 52 per cent and is expected to grow to 67 per cent in 2024.
