Imphal, April 30 -- Repoll began in six polling stations for the Outer Manipur seat on Tuesday at 7 a.m.

Voters started coming out to exercise their franchise, though the weather was not clear.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) had ordered a fresh poll at six polling stations on April 30 of three assembly segments due to reports of violence and EVM destruction falling under the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency, which went to the polls on Friday.

The poll will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Congress had demanded Repoll in 19 polling stations as Congress workers were threatened by armed persons. Rigging, booth capture, and EVM destruction were reported during the poll.

So far, there has been no report of any violence.
