New Delhi, Feb. 5 -- More than 14 lakh children have been rescued from child labour and provided with education, vocational training, mid-day meals, stipends, and healthcare under the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) scheme so far, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameshwar Teli said in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Teli said, "Under the NCLP scheme, the children in the age group of 9-14 years are rescued from work and enrolled in the NCLP Special Training Centres (STCs), where they are provided with bridge education, vocational training, mid-day meals, stipends, health care, etc. before being mainstreamed into the formal education system."
