Imphal, Feb. 15 -- A violent mob attacked the office of the SP in Churachandpur district on Thursday night.
The mob pelted stones and ransacked the premises of the office. Churachandpur Police SP Surve had issued an order suspending a police head constable, Siamlalpaul, for allegedly working with suspected armed militants to carry out illegal activities on common citizens. To protest the suspension, large numbers of youths came out and attacked various government offices and the SP office.
Manipur Police said in X that a mob numbering about 300-400 attempted to storm the office of SP CCP today, pelting stones, etc. The SF, including the RAF, is responding appropriately by firing tear gas shells to control the situation. Things are under w...
