India, March 19 -- Travellers can now enjoy 24/7 access to one of Nepal's most treasured tourist destinations, Pokhara, as the government recently designated it as the official tourism capital of the Himalayan nation.

The announcement was made during a special ceremony at Barahi Ghat, located near the serene Phewa Lake, presided by Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'. Located in Gandaki Province, Pokhara is an iconic hill station in Nepal.
