New York, May 1 -- At 60 years old, journalist and lawyer Alejandra Rodriguez is shattering stereotypes in the pageant world as she paves her way to compete for Miss Universe Argentina.

Recently crowned Miss Universe Buenos Aires, Alejandra is the oldest contestant to clinch the title.

When the Miss Universe contest started in 1952, contestants were required to be between the ages of 18 to 28, with the stipulation that they shouldn't have children.

However, with the change in Miss Universe rules in 2023, Alejandra saw an opportunity to participate in the pageant and make her mark.
