Srinagar, May 3 -- Night temperature recorded an increase amid cloud cover but continued to hover below normal in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

A Meteorological Department official here told Jammu recorded a low of 17.6degC against 15.7degC on the previous night and it was below normal by 5.0degC for the winter capital of J&K. Banihal recorded a low of 8.0degC, Batote 9.5degC and Bhaderwah 6.1degC, he said.

He said Srinagar recorded a low of 7.8degC against 5.7degC on the previous night and it was 1.9degC below normal for the summer capital of JK for this time of the year.

Qazigund recorded a minimum of 6.2degC against 3.6degC on the previous night and it was 2.3degC below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.
