Dhaka, Feb. 14 -- Dr Shahriar Hossain, Senior Policy and Technical Advisor of Environment and Social Development Organization (ESDO), has been re-elected as a Board of Directors of the Pacific Basin Consortium (PBC) for 2024 to 2028.

He has been elected for the post for the fourth consecutive tenure, according to a official hand out.

Dr Shahriar, a pioneering figure in the global anti-polythene and plastic movement, has dedicated 13 years to campaigning against plastic bags, notably spearheading the ban on polythene bags in Bangladesh.

Since 1990, he has been a dedicated full-time volunteer at the ESDO, serving the poor and combating global plastic and toxic pollution.
