Dhaka, Feb. 23 -- 1 (one) person was shot dead and at least 20 others sustained bullet injures in a fierce armed clash took place in the villager Mollarkul under Mollahat Upazila in Bagerhat district between the 2 rival groups of local Awami League named Kazi group (led by Layek Kazi) and Khaki group (led by Shahjahan Khaki) over the expansion of supremacy in the localities at Sunday evening, according to a delayed report received here.
The deceased is Panna Molla (40), a follower of Kazi group. On the other hand, out of 20 bullet-injured persons including 6 police personnel.
In this connection a case was lodged with Mollahat PS by the police as the plaintiff against unidentified 50 persons on the charge of assaulting the police.
