Dhaka, Feb. 13 -- Environment Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury has emphasised the immediate need to capitalise and distribute funds for loss and damage as decided at the COP28, held in UAE last year.

Speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai on Monday, he stressed the importance of swiftly disbursing funds to the most affected communities in the world, according to a release.

Chowdhury said all nations should raise their pledges for climate finance to address the growing needs of vulnerable countries adequately.

He also said there is an urgent necessity to define climate finance and align funding with scientific assessments.
