Dhaka, Jan. 23 -- The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has asked the Anti Corruption Commission how the defrauded e-commerce customers can get back their money.

A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan put the question to the lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) during the hearing on a case related to the multilevel marketing (MLM) company UniPay2U on Tuesday.

"Those who have committed crimes may be punished. But what about the victims [of e-commerce defrauding]? How can they get back their money?" the court told the ACC lawyer.

In reply, ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan said, "It's a matter of legal explanation. There is nothing specific in the law."
