Dhaka, April 22 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has set up a committee to probe alleged corruption involving former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed and his family regarding the illegal accumulation of a large amount of wealth.

ACC Secretary Khorsheda Yesmeen briefed the journalists about this on Monday.

"A three-member committee has been formed to investigate the allegations of amassing illegal wealth against Benazir, she said.

The committee will do whatever is required in this regard according to the relevant ACC rules, the ACC secretary said.

Several print and electronic media have published the reported illegal acquisition of wealth against Benazir, Yesmeen stated.
