Dhaka, April 30 -- In a span of 24 hours, the prices of gold in the country's local market witnessed a fall again as the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (Bajus) on Tuesday reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 420.

According to the new decision by local jewellers, the price of the high-quality gold has been set at Tk 111,041 per bhori (11.664g).

The new rate would be effective from 4pm on Tuesday, Bajus said in a statement.

The price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 106,002 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 90,863 per bhori and traditional gold at Tk 75,559 per bhori, according to the new tariff.

BAJUS, in seven phases, has slashed the gold price by Tk 8,387.
