Dhaka, March 10 -- The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) urged traders on Sunday to keep prices of essential commodities stable and ensure a smooth supply chain during the holy month of Ramadan.

The apex trade body made the appeal during its standing committee meeting on 'Aratdar of Perishable Goods and Marketing and Supplies' at its Motijheel office in the capital.

President of FBCCI Mahbubul Alam called on wholesalers and retailers to remain vigilant to prevent unscrupulous traders from raising commodity prices artificially.

He also emphasised the importance of maintaining a smooth supply of essential commodities.
