Dhaka, May 5 -- Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury has said the government would think about keeping schools open on Fridays, if it is necessary to reduce the learning gap caused by recent closures.

Through a post on the verified Facebook page of the education ministry on Sunday, the minister said, "There are a total of 185 working days. Out of the days, 20 days are kept for assessment of the new curriculum."

"If the educational institutions do not get the targeted working days, the government will take steps to conduct classes on Fridays to complete lessons in accordance with the curriculum," the minister said.
