12 Bangladeshi fishermen released from Arakan Army's captivity
Dhaka, May 3 -- 12 Bangladeshi fishermen, who were abducted by Arakan Army from the Thaiingkhali Rahmaterbazar border area in Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya on Wednesday, were released from captivity on Thursday night.
Around 8:00 am on Wednesday, the fishermen were abducted by the rebel group of Myanmar while fishing in the Naf River along Bangladesh-Myanmar border.
Later, they were released after 7 pm on Thursday. Palongkhali Union Parishad Chairman M Gofur Uddin Chowdhury confirmed the release of the abductees.
The released fishermen are: Jane Alam (35), son of Hossain Ali of Rahmaterbazar Bil area of Palongkhali union; Abdur Rahim (40), son of deceased Abdus Salam; Anwarul Islam (37) and Saiful Islam (30), sons of deceased Jalal Ahmed; Ayubu...
