India, May 3 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service or FSIS has warned against San Antonio Packing Co.'s raw pork chorizo products.

A public health alert has been issued as the products may be contaminated with a foreign material, specifically hard plastic and metal.

The agency noted that a recall was not requested because the product is no longer available for purchase.

The alert has been issued to 12-oz. vacuum-sealed packages containing "LEAN apco BRAND MEATS ALL NATURAL PREMIUM CHORIZO" with the best-by date of 5/12/24.

The raw pork chorizo items were produced on February 12, 2024.
