KATHMANDU, May 8 -- A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday arguing that the vote of confidence gained by Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Khagaraj Adhikari is 'unconstitutional'.

In the writ petition registered by Gandaki Province Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader and former Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey, it was claimed that the vote of confidence obtained by Chief Minister Adhiakri was unconstitutional.

Supreme Court (SC)'s Spokesperson Bed Prasad Uprety shared that the hearing on the writ has been set for May 9.

The writ claimed that the vote of confidence was secured by counting the votes of the Province Assembly in an illegitimate way.
