KATHMANDU, Feb. 7 -- Ward Chairman Karki of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality in Ramechhap has asked locals to cut down trees in their private property to tackle monkey menace.

Ward Chairman Shiva Kumar Karki of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality has issued a notice to address the monkey menace by instructing the cutting down of trees and removing shrubs in their private properties in order to destroy the habitats of wild animals.

This move comes weeks after a similar controversial directive issued by the Chairman of Pokhara Metropolitan City-19 in Kaski. The notice requests landowners to cut down trees and clear bushes on private property to control the increasing threat of monkeys by mid-March.
