KATHMANDU, March 3 -- Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday declined by 11.78 points to close at 1960.30 points.

The market opened at 1972.09 points and plunged to the day's low at 1,947.28 points in the first one and a half hours of trading. The market then surged successively and hit the day's high at 1,974.64 points in the last 50 minutes. The index again lost around 14 points in the remaining period before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of 'A' class companies declined by 1.92 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 2.082 billion from Rs 2.598 billion on Thursday.
