KATHMANDU, May 9 -- Chief minister (CM) of Koshi Province, Kedar Karki, who has automatically rendered into a caretaker status after Province Chief Parshu Ram Khapunhg called for the formation of a new government, has decided to challenge the decision of Province Chief to relieve him from the post.

Sources said Chief Minister Karki has already arrived in Kathmandu to file a writ petition against the decision of Province Chief Khapung to relieve him from the post, summoning the parties to stake claim for the formation of new government.

Province Chief Khapung on Wednesday called for the formation of a new government as per Article 168 of the Constitution of Nepal.
