KATHMANDU, Feb. 4 -- Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started collecting waste that is segregated directly as biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste from the households itself from Ward- 27. For this, the KMC has deployed vehicles labeled with distinctive green and blue colors.

Specific vehicles have been organized to collect, transport, and manage waste that has been segregated by residents. With a population of 5,000, Ward-27 comprises 1,400 households. While lauding the move of KMC, a local resident Resident Ramesh Maharjan said that he will actively participate in waste segregation at the household level.
