KATHMANDU, April 17 -- Kedar Karki, the chief minister of Koshi Province, has claimed that the resolution motion directing him to seek a vote of confidence cannot be tabled in the provincial assembly, asserting that such a move would be unconstitutional.

Sending a formal letter to Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista on Wednesday, Chief Minister Karki contested the legality and constitutionality of the resolution proposal registered in the provincial assembly.

A special session of the provincial assembly has been scheduled for Friday, during which a resolution is set to be passed mandating the chief minister to seek a vote of confidence.
