KOCHI, April 4 -- The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political outfit launched by the banned Popular Front of India, announced on Tuesday that it would offer unconditional support to the Congress-led UDF in the Lok Sabha election.

This was disclosed by Ashraf Moulavi, president of the SDPI while addressing the media on Tuesday. "There was no discussion between the UDF and the SDPI in this regard. Our party is of the view that the Congress is the only political party in India which could take in Hindutva and that is the reason why we took a decision like this," said Moulavi.
