MANILA, Feb. 29 -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is planning to establish vape certification facilities in the country as part of the government's heightened enforcement operations against illegal vape products.

In a statement on Thursday, the Trade department said Secretary Alfredo Pascual already directed DTI officials to assess the department's preparedness in implementing the Vape Law and to identify any equipment needed for testing.

The product registration and other related provisions of Republic Act 11900, or the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act, will take effect in June 2024.
