Manila, April 26 -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday carried out clearing operations along alternate routes in Quezon City, apprehending 105 illegally parked vehicles and impounded four.

The clearing operations aim to ensure that all alternate routes are accessible and obstruction-free before the partial closure of the EDSA-Kamuning flyover on May 1.

Aside from illegally parked vehicles, the operation also addressed illegal vendors, store extensions, sidewalk encroachment, and illegal dumping of garbage that hinder the use of sidewalks by pedestrians and may cause traffic congestion.
