Bhubaneswar, April 12 -- Recent spells of thunderstorm activities in different parts applied brakes on the soaring mercury in Odisha. However, an intense spell of heatwave is again on the cards as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a sharp rise in maximum or day temperature in the state.

As per the forecast issued by IMD on Friday, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 6 to 8 degrees C after 24 hours.

"No large change in the maximum temperature (Day Temperature) during next 24 Hrs and gradual rise by 6-8 degree C during subsequent 4-5 days at many places over the districts of Odisha,"said IMD.

The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for heatwave in several parts of Odisha.Weather Forecast
