The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has issued a recall for two cinnamon powder products that contain harmful levels of lead. The Koi Fish Brand Cinnamon powder from China and Gabrielle T Organic Cinnamon powder from India are being recalled by the importers. Additionally, Hadapirika Mineral Water, bottled in Japan, is also being recalled for containing unsafe levels of the chemical bromate.
While a one-off consumption of the affected products is unlikely to pose any immediate food safety concern, the SFA cautions that prolonged consumption of high levels of lead can cause problems for the kidney and liver, as well...
