Nagaland: Pork prices surge in Dimapur by 16%
DIMAPUR, Feb. 23 -- Pork, a cherished delicacy among the Nagas, has become more expensive in Dimapur, Nagaland.
Pork prices at Dimapur in Nagaland were hiked following a price revision by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), with wholesale and retail prices witnessing hikes of over 18% and 16%, respectively.
The decision to revise prices came during a coordination meeting on February 22 in response to a representation submitted by the Pork Wholesalers of Dimapur requesting a review of existing rates.
The wholesale price of pork was increased from Rs 215 to Rs 255 per kilogram, marking a significant 18.6% rise.
Similarly, the price of dressed pork rose from Rs 300 to Rs 350 per kilogram, representing a hike of over 16%.
