Easing of permit restrictions boosts tourism in Nagaland, reveals survey
KOHIMA, March 18 -- The Nagaland economic survey 2023-24, presented during the recent 4th session of the 14th Nagaland legislative assembly in Kohima, highlighted the burgeoning tourism sector in the state following the annual lifting of Protected Area Permit (PAP).
This development positions Nagaland as a promising destination, drawing attention from both domestic and international tourists.
According to the survey conducted by the Nagaland directorate of economic and statistics the renowned Hornbill Festival witnessed a significant influx of visitors in 2023, with a total of 1,54,057 attendees.
Among them, there were 1,14,860 local tourists and a notable 49 percent increase in foreign tourist arrivals compared to the previous year.
