GUWAHATI, March 1 -- Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma predicts that the Congress will lose its national party status following the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

He said that the BJP-led NDA is expected to secure over 400 seats.

The Assam CM foresees the Congress fragmenting into various regional entities post-election.

CM Sarma emphasized this while discussing the seat-sharing arrangement in Assam.

He noted that the demoralization of Congress workers is inevitable and the party will lack national leadership.

As part of the seat-sharing arrangement, BJP will contest in 11 seats, while AGP and UPPL will contest in two and one seat(s) respectively.
