New Delhi, April 27 -- India is reportedly among the top countries in the world for obesity. Already in the tens of millions, the number of obese Indians, including children, is rising as more people turn to high-calorie processed and packaged foods. Our correspondent Ravinder Bawa reports.

Food consumption patterns in India are changing. Indian households are spending more on processed foods and less on home cooked meals. Consequently Indians are getting fatter. According to a report in the British medical journal, the Lancet, about 70 million adults in India were found to be obese in 2022.
