Afghanistan, April 23 -- The Taiwan Meteorological Agency recently announced that over 80 earthquakes and aftershocks, the strongest measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale, have shaken the island in the past 24 hours.

Based on reports, this relatively strong earthquake occurred intermittently in the rural area of Hualien from Monday to early this morning, with its aftershocks also felt in the capital of Taiwan.

This earthquake comes just about 20 days after another earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale struck the region, claiming at least 14 lives and injuring over 700 others.

Authorities in Taiwan have not yet released reports of casualties and damages from this earthquake.
