Srinagar, April 5 -- Police in Ganderbal have solved a theft case by arresting an accused woman involved in the crime, a police spokesperson informed.

He said acting on a complaint about theft at the home of one Kaiser Ahmad Waza, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Waza of Tawheed Chowk Ganderbal, police after registering a case, with the help of technical inputs, apprehended the accused woman at Hari Singh High Street Srinagar.

During the preliminary investigation, the accused, who happens to be the sister-in-law of the complainant, confessed to the crime and admitted that she has stolen the gold ornaments and sold them for money.

Upon her disclosure, cash of Rs 1,85,500 and scooty were recovered from her possession. She has been arrested in the...
