Manipur, April 24 -- Centre for Research and Advocacy, Manipur (CRAM) called for urgent need to recognise the fundamental rights and protect the lives and security of people of Manipur during the ongoing 23rd Session of the United Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) held at the United Nations Headquarters, New York City which kicked off from April 15 and will continue till Friday.

During the session held on April 18, CRAM Secretary Jiten Yumnam, intervening under agenda item 5(a) drew the attention of UNPFII on the persisting conflict situation in Manipur and urged to ensure the fundamental rights and and security of the indigenous people of the state, stated a release on Tuesday.
