Manipur, April 30 -- In light of recent incidents of poll violence, the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Monday has called for heightened security measures to ensure the smooth conduct of repolling in polling stations within the outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.

Speaking to the media at Congress Bhawan in Imphal, MPCC president K Meghachandra asserted that the six polling stations announced for repolling have been identified as hyper-sensitive and vulnerable areas due to potential threats from anti-social elements.

Any wanton behaviour may occur during the repoll period by the anti-social elements as reported to the offices of MPCC by sources, he added.
