DHANGADHI, Jan. 12 -- CMG Sankata has secured quarter-final place in the ongoing International Far-western Khaptad Gold Cup after defeating Gorkha Boys Rupandehi 2-0 in a match played in Dhangadhi Stadium on Friday.

Sankata edged the competitive first half after Rabi Silwal scored a goal in the first minute of injury time before the break. Sankata's goalkeeper Raj Babu was pick-of-the-players in the first half after neutralizing many attacks from the Gorkha Boys.

With second goal of the match, Maxwell solidified the lead and eventually won the match in the 83rd minute. Fofana Ibrahim registered the assist for the second goal of the match.
