Jagatsinghpur, Jan. 15 -- Irate locals from 29 panchayats under Kujang block in Paradip staged a road blockade today at Bhuta Mundai chhak demanding discharge of excess water from Haladipani creek.
According to sources, the district administration is yet to take any steps for the construction of proposed siphon spillway(a short discharge pipe) and sluice gate to discharge excess rainwater from Haladipani creek.
Following the protest vehicular traffic was severely disrupted on Paradip-Cuttack and Paradip-Chandikhole route, added sources.
