New Delhi, Jan. 11 -- A day after Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) chief Alok Verma was removed from office, the Delhi High Court dismissed the pleas of the agency's special director Rakesh Asthana and others seeking quashing of an FIR against them on corruption and bribery allegations.

Asthana can now move a division bench of the High Court against the judgment.

Following the tussle between Asthana and Verma becoming public last year, the verdict is important as it comes against the backdrop of unprecedented churning within the CBI, with Verma having been reinstated by the Supreme Court and removed by the selection panel on Thursday evening in a span of 60 hours.
