Afghanistan, Jan. 16 -- The U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad briefed president Mohammad Ashraf Ghani regarding his recent trips aimed at the revival peace talks with the Taliban.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said Ambassador Khalilzad briefed President Ghani regarding his recent trips to India, China, and United Arab Emirates.

Ambassador Khalilzad has said that the main purpose his recent trips to the regional countries were to establish a regional consensus for the revival of peace talks.

He also added that his trips to the regional countries would continue after concluding his trip in Kabul, according to ARG Palace.
