MASERU, Feb. 19 -- Lesotho Mini-Chess Program is currently training a total of 1000 school kids on problem solving techniques and the development of fine and gross motor skills through playing mini chess games.

In an exclusive interview with Informative Sport, Moseli Phera who is a Chess Mentor under the mentioned initiative, says they are currently working in three schools in Maseru, namely; Tholoana Bophelo English Medium School, Montessori International School and Maseru English Medium Preparatory School.

The program is aimed at introducing kids to chess at early stages for future benefit of local chess. Phera noted that the mini-chess is more of educational than competitive.
