IMPHAL, Feb. 16 -- "Even if the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB), 2019 was not tabled in the Rajya Sabha, there might be an attempt to introduce the bill if a new party comes to power in the upcoming parliamentary elections; and so there is need for the Centre to still consider the Bill with significance," said Lok Sabha MP, T Meinya.
After spending some days in protest against the CAB at Delhi, Lok Sabha MPs, Thangso Baite and T. Meinya arrived at Imphal at around 2:30 pm at Imphal airport today. Speaking about the present condition of the Bill, T. Meinya stated that it was due to the joint efforts of the mothers, meira paibi lups, students' organisations and CVOs amongst others which led to the CAB from being tabled at the Rajya Sabha....
