RANCHI, Jan. 11 -- Jharkhand, which organised the Global Skill Summit 2019 on Thursday, plans to export skilled labour to international hubs of commerce, according to what officials said at the event. One such hub is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) - the state plans to meet 20% of the highly urbanised Gulf country's need for skilled drivers by the year 2020.

Speaking at the summit, Union petroleum and skill development minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, "During a recent visit to Dubai (one of the emirates), we were told that the UAE requires 50,000 drivers by 2020.
