Mumbai, Dec. 7 -- The state informed the Bombay high court (HC) that the demolition of fugitive jeweller Nirav Modi's illegally constructed bungalow at Alibaug has been ordered and that demolition notices have also been issued to owners of 58 more illegal constructions along Alibaug beach. If the owners take no action, these will be demolished in the next four days.

The high court was hearing petitions alleging damage to the environment due to illegal constructions in the coastal regulation zone (CRZ) at Alibaug.

Advocate PB Kakade, appearing for the state, told the court that as per an HC directive, a civil judge in Alibaug had ordered on December 4 that Nirav Modi's illegally-constructed bungalow in Alibaug be razed.
