Kalyan, Dec. 7 -- A day after a report found that six students of zilla parishad school at Dwarli village were suspected to have contracted Elephantiasis, a team of five doctors and professors from Grant Medical College and JJ Hospital, Mumbai, visited the school.

The report was prepared after a blood test of the 170 students of the school during a yearly lymphatic filariasis elimination programme in zilla parishad schools across Thane district.

The doctors said there is nothing to panic. "We were directed by the state health ministry to visit the village. We have found that there is no epidemic-like situation and there is nothing to worry," said Prashant Howal, assistant professor, community medicine, Grant Medical College, Mumbai.
