New Delhi, Feb. 1 -- The unemployment rate in India touched 6.1%, a 45 year high, in 2017-18 according to the first Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) conducted by the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO). These statistics were first reported in Business Standard on Thursday. PLFS is a slightly improvised version of the earlier Employment Unemployment Surveys (EUS), also conducted by NSSO.
