SHIMLA, Jan. 11 -- Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Thursday condemned the killing of a Sikh man in Tral last week and said they will meet his family, after Sikh organizations asked the separatist leadership to clear its stand on the killing.

Simranjeet Singh, 29, was killed by unidentified gunmen in Tral near his village. Police blamed the militants and said Singh was killed because the victim's brother had been elected as sarpanch in the local body elections.

JRL's Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik said that killing of any human irrespective of their faith should be condemned.
