SHIMLA, Jan. 11 -- Despite adverse wind and climatic conditions, Lieutenant Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal scaled Mount Vinson in Antarctica on January 4, becoming the first person from Jammu and Kashmir and the Indian Army and the ninth Indian to complete seven summits in the world.
Jamwal had departed for the summit on December 25.
Speaking from Chile in South America to HT, Jamwal said, "I am thrilled and honoured to have scaled the Mount Vinson for which I was trying since 2010." He attributed the success to his family and also the Indian army.
