India, Jan. 12 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav all but announced his party's alliance with one-time arch-rival Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the Lok Sabha polls on Friday, saying the coalition will get "the math right" and defeat the BJP.

A formal announcement is expected at a press conference by Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati in Lucknow later today. Incidentally, the announcement will be made from the same venue, same stage as in 2017 when then Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav announced a tie-up for the assembly polls. The BJP swept the polls winning 312 of the 403 seats.
