PANJIM, Feb. 17 -- Former MLA and noted poet Vishnu Surya Wagh, who died in Johannesburg in South Africa last week, will be accorded State funeral on Sunday at 4 pm in Ponda.

Addressing media persons on Saturday, Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gawade said that the mortal remains of Wagh will arrive at Dabolim airport on Sunday at 2.40 am, from where it would be taken to his ancestral home in Dhavli-Ponda.

Gawade said that the remains would be kept for public homage at Bandodkar ground, Ponda from 9 am onwards on Sunday.

"The remains would be carried to Muktidham at 4 pm on Sunday where final rites would be performed on the body. He would be cremated with State honours," the minister said.
